Seeking reason to exhibit at the Group Leisure & Travel Show this October? The numbers from last year’s show speak volumes about why the event is so beneficial for group travel providers.

‘Successful’, ‘fantastic’, ‘a fabulous amount of leads’ and ‘so much better than other shows’: just some of the positive feedback about the 2017 show, received from companies that exhibited last October.

Additionally, the statistics indicate how successful the show was, for both visiting organisers and the travel industry representatives who exhibited.

Visitor and exhibitor research following the Group Leisure & Travel Show 2017 confirms that the annual exhibition at the NEC remains a firm favourite across the group travel and coach tourism sector.

Our survey results have indicated the following:

• Over 95% of visitors said their visit to the Birmingham-based show gave them good ideas and helped them plan future trips, a substantial increase on last year, which came in at 91%.

• In addition 94% of visitors met the right type of exhibitor at the NEC at last year’s show, which was also up in comparison to 2016 when the figure was 91.5%.

• When asked if they plan to visit the show again this year, a record 94.5% of 2017 visitors responding to the survey said they would definitely or probably attend in 2018.

Over 95% of visitors said their visit helped them plan future trips.

Commenting on the research following the show, show director Graham Yandell said: “We are delighted that feedback has once again been so positive. We make a massive investment in venue, logistics, marketing, and show content, and it is very pleasing when the GLTS hits the spot like this.

“We work very hard to maintain the show as the number one annual event for GTOs and coach operators. Feedback from exhibitors has also been excellent and forward bookings for stand space are at record levels. As a result we expect a really vibrant and successful exhibition on 11th October, 2018.

“Our unique link with the GLT Awards dinner the previous evening at the Hilton Metropole on 10th October, also remains popular and really does elevate the whole experience above other event options available in the market.”

Many exhibitors commented that the quality of visitor was excellent. Show organiser Emma Cash explained: “We vet all visitor registrations to attend and last year we actually refused accreditation to over 200 people who intended to head to the GLTS and sell. Our view is that those who want to take advantage of the investment we make should join the other exhibitors who support the show commercially.

“Our exhibitors who pay to be there want to see active GTOs and coach operators, and our mission is to provide exhibitors and visitors with an event experience they can truly value”.
