With the hot weather continuing for longer than we all expected, we’ve been looking at a selection of exhibitors coming to the Group Leisure & Travel Show in October who can help GTOs celebrate nature and the great outdoors.
The Eden Project in Cornwall celebrates all kind of plant life. The attraction features different climatic zones including a multitude of plants and blooms from all over the world. There’s also an outdoor garden for perusing on the sunny days featuring red-hot pokers, a secret garden and the ingredients for beer – hops and barley.
If there are 15 or more of you, you can benefit from discounts when pre-booking. Guided tours are available on request when booking too and you can also enjoy lunch on your visit as part of your package.
Woburn Abbey and Gardens in Bedfordshire is closing for a big renovation next September, but until then groups can enjoy new packages and tours allowing you to discover the wonderful gardens on display.
There are four suggested packages for groups at the attraction. These include: a combined trip with Bletchley Park; The Woburn Experience which involves the abbey, gardens and safari park; the Howland, featuring tea and lunch and a tour of either the abbey or gardens; and the Russell, which allows you to explore the Abbey at your own pace with an afternoon tea at the end.
Featuring the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse, the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in Richmond, has a lot to offer groups. For your itinerary, you could opt to see The Hive, an experience highlighting the life of bees; the Arboretum featuring more than 14,000 trees; and the Princess of Wales Conservatory, including plants from ten different climate zones.
Tours can also be arranged, from the Temperate Treasures tour to the Kew Explorer Land Train, which takes you around the gardens on the attraction’s small train to learn about the flora and fauna.
If it’s walking that your group enjoys, then a trip with HF Holidays could be one for your list. With a wide range of walking holidays suitable for groups, you can explore all areas of the UK, Europe and further afield.
Activities groups can enjoy with HF whilst soaking up the outdoors include guided walks, self-guided walks, island hopping, heritage tours and horticultural trips. All abilities are catered for, from more challenging walking trips to relaxing gentle strolls.
Cotswolds Tourism covers all bases when it comes to exploring the picturesque region. With an array of attractions to visit, you’ll be spoilt for choice. To enjoy the outdoors on a visit, groups should pay a visit to Highgrove Gardens or Batsford Arboretum & Garden Centre, both in abundance with colourful blooms.
Those wanting to combine history with the outdoors should visit Sudeley Castle and Gardens to explore the Medieval ruins as well as admire the greenery.
